RamsesII was born about 1303 b.c. Ramses II also known as Ramses the Great was an Egyptian pharaoh .He reigned 1260 B.C. -1224 B.C. which is 66 years. He become pharaoh at the age of 24, and he died during his 90th year.He was also known to the Ancient Greeks as Sesostirs.

He was the 3rd king of the 19th dynasty , and the son of Seti 1 and his Queen Tuya.Ramses had over 200 children. Some of there names were Bintah , Setakht,and Kha'emweset.

He led several expeditions north into the lands east of the Mediterramnean.At the Battle of Qadesh in the 4th year of his regin , egyptian forces under Rameses 2 engaged the forces of Muwatallis, king of the Hittites.Over the following years, neither power couold effectively defeat the other ,so in the 21st year of his reign , Ramses concluded a agreement with Hattusilis the 3rd with the earliest known surviving peace treaty. Ramses also campaigned south of the first cataract into Nubia. HE always construced many impressive monuments , and more statues of him exist than of any other egyptian pharaoh.Ramses was indeed a strong believer in the work of those living in Deir el Medina.

At least as early as Eusebius of Caesarea he was identified with the Pharaoh of whom the bibical figure Moses is populary beleived to have demanded that his people should be released from slavery.

When he died, his mummy was found at Deir-al-Bahari in 1881 and placed in the Egyptian Museum in Cairo 5 years later , where it is still exhibited with pride by Egyptian people.
